Good. Then it's a promise.

[And then...! Well, she eats! There's a content air despite the growing migraine, the fact that half of this dinner is coming back up at some point like a threat, and the matter of getting back to her hotel safely. None of that matters.

It's nice to have a friend again.]

[it's...really nice to have friends again. of course he has his Pokemon, they're his family, his lifeline and anchor, and they can communicate but. this is different. and it's nice. a nice, contentment in this silence, it stretches around them, warm]

[Her own comfort with the lack of noise for its own sake is a rare hallmark. Once upon a time in her life, silence was the promise of a threat, the prelude to violence, and its presence had made her skin crawl, back then.

But in the present, Nariko finishes eating and is no less animated! Chin in both hands, the smears in her pile of ketchup threaten to tell her fortune. Fall asleep somewhere random? Find company for the night? The slow and dreary process of removing her makeup and slithering into boring pajamas, flopping under hotel sheets.

Bleh.

She decides to bend over and try to get her shoes back on, assured of her increasing sobriety until the corner of the table and her forehead kiss violently! Her eyes cross a little,]

Nnngh...

[It is still going to be a long night. But at least one shoe is on!]

[he's content, and basking in it, until that violent, loud thud of her forehead and the table. he drops what he's still nibbling on and leans forward, green eyes wide--]

Are you okay?

[She angles up, wincing and rubbing the wounded spot on her head.]

Mmhm, I think I just need my bed.

[And like sixteen pillows to cuddle with.]

[leaning in closely, at least it doesn't look like she has a knot on her head]

Okay, we'll get outta here.

[She is nothing, if not durable.]

Next time, we'll do something that's actually fun.

[She puts way too much money under one of their cups before getting up.]

Nariko attempts a glare and just puts more of her own down and takes his back!!

[Well, alright since they're at this point she freely thrusts it back to him with the most petulant expression ever.]

Save your money for your Pokemon and a proper first date you're excited for!

[he sighs at her]

That second part won't happen. But I'm not sure it'd be fair to fight you here, while you're like this.

Yeah, yeah, okay.

[It's the 'sure, that's what you think until first love pummels you in the face' voice.]

Hm? Like what? Tired?

Tired and still a little drunk. [said matter of factly-- no judgement, though!]

Oh, I'm not drunk anymore.

[Not that it really changes anything.]

You've done enough for one night, Gladion. Plus! I seriously don't know how to handle this much kindness in one one go!

[A very polite way of airing out her control issues.]

[he raises a brow at her, silently, for a moment, then concedes with a nod]

Okay. Okay, Nariko.

She had clearly expected a fight where there was none! Her relief is palpable, as they leave. It's a while before the question arrives:]

Are you going to worry unless you walk me right back to my hotel room?

[he considered it for a moment, but she must look more 'tired' than she thinks if he goes with it]

Absolutely.

[To be entirely fair she is standing upright out of nothing but spite, and knowing that he probably wouldn't be sensible enough to just drag her somewhere.]

[He was kind about the money so she won't argue this one! Though, the hotel is a walk away. Time to get going, since teleporting would likely freak him out....]

[It's really late and a little cold, and never a bad time for comforting touch. Though, she does ruin it just a bit with the gigantic smile, her arm briefly tightening around his.

Off they go! Being in unfamiliar places is par for the course and since her head is clear, just tired, making sure to walk in the right direction is easy. It's a while before she speaks up again.]

Hey, start thinking of a proper fun thing you wanna do!

[it's...pleasant. a little cold, sure, but the streets aren't too crowded (though he does keep alert, just in case)]
