Like I said, only if I impress you, so don't go easy on me! I was thinking about what you said before, about doing something that makes me happy, and it's true that I love building things, and architecture but ...

[A head tilt, a more relaxed expression.] Nothing compared to cooking with my brother when he got back home from school.

Not if I can help it. I stay at a hotel, on this island, but not here.

Well, I definitely feel less self-conscious about living out of one now. But, doesn't it get lonely?

It's cool. Great to have ice whenever you want. [yes that's....a pro] I have Null, and my other Pokemon. I could ask you the same, couldn't I?

I'm lonely and bored out of my skull.

Because there's this really nice one that's near the sea and it's got two rooms on opposite ends with the kitchen in the middle! And there's a balcony if your Pokemon need sun, or something!

[A half-chopped vegetable is waved around like a conversation wand.]

If I'm going to try and live and be happy then I can't just stay in a hotel forever. But, you shouldn't either! People need a reliable home to come back to, one that's warm. So, why not be roommates?

[Probably should have lead with that phrasing but, look, she's trying.]

Yeah that's true...but you'd want to? Room with me? I'm just a kid, much as I hate to admit it.

Why does that matter?

I can't really contribute all that much.

Well, it's not like I want you to, anyway? If you're talking about bills or whatever.

[This is like when you ask a friend to go out to eat and they go 'but I have no money' or something!]

If you really want to think about it that way, your presence is the contribution! I'll feel way more positive about everything if I'm not coming home to total emptiness every day.

But I should-- cause that's...my presence can't be just contribution.

[it troubles him...he's still a little guy, a former rich kid, but he's had a rather abrupt and rude awakening to the grown up world.]

[But he is just a kid, and expecting the same form of contribution is unreasonable, and she's not the best adult, but she won't become another in a line of those who must have contributed to that awakening.

House chores when I'm not on a job, I guess. Making sure the place is safe...

And teaching me about Pokemon! Especially if I get to have one.

They do like snacks. And cuddling, depending on the Pokemon. But being gentle with them is what it's all about.
